Barker College Parents' Association
The Barker College Parents’ Association (BCPA) provides an invaluable service to the School and has provided resources for learning and teaching as well as amenities and facilities for students since its foundation as the Barker College Mothers' Association in 1926.
The BCPA is particularly instrumental in welcoming new parents into the Barker community with morning teas, dinners and suppers. This active group of parents organise many of the School’s major social and community events, including the Inside the Mint Gates - Welcome, Trivia Night, annual parent functions and the wonderful Christmas Fair.
Through its numerous fundraising initiatives, the BCPA have donated furniture to the Prep School, 15 spin cycles to the Girls' gym, a robot to the Science Department, pianos to the Junior School, a 3D printer to the Design & Technology Department, carpet for the school gym where the HSC is held, strengthening equipment for the boys' gym, new music stands for the Music Department, and heavy equipment lifters for the Drama Department. Fundraising from the biannual Spring Fair has also contributed to the refurbishment of Leslie Hall.
During the year, the BCPA also raises funds and collects items for donation to many different charities. It also provides care and support to families in times of need.
