About this event

In true Barker fashion, Head of Drama Ms Pia Midgley invites six Drama Alumni to direct Year 10 students in three short plays:

Eclipse, Black Comedy and Concord Floral.

This artistic experiment honors Barker’s tradition of fostering young talent and highlights the school’s commitment to challenging drama. Performed each night, the three plays explore how one event can reveal hidden truths and change lives.

Eclipse follows teens coping with a girl’s mysterious disappearance during a solar eclipse.

Black Comedy shows chaos when a power outage exposes secrets at a social gathering.

Concord Floral uncovers a haunting secret in an abandoned greenhouse, forcing teens to face guilt and silence. Though varied in tone—from drama to comedy to mystery—all reveal truth’s power, the weight of secrets, and youth’s complexity, showcasing our performers’ creativity and depth while reinforcing Barker’s legacy of artistic excellence.
