Beneath the Surface

I have created a series of paintings that depict differing and contrasting circumstances that humans might experience.

The largest painting, centred at the top, connotes a sense of placidity, however, the works below illustrate the conflicting and pessimistic feelings of anger and suffocation within one’s self that exist beneath the surface, ultimately establishing the struggle towards attaining peace and challenging an individual’s ability to reach this idyllic state of mind. My artwork attunes readers to the duality of the human condition and invites them to connect to their own experiences and to the values reflected in my works.
