Barker College is excited to announce the expansion of its swimming programs through a new arrangement with the Hornsby Aquatic Centre.

Commencing in Term 2, Barker will effectively double its squad program, allowing the School’s Performance Squads to utilise long course (50m) lane space for training and racing all year round.

Director of Barker’s Aquatic Centre, Mr Haydn Belshaw, said, “This arrangement with the Hornsby Aquatic Centre will allow us to offer more swimming programs and flexibility across both locations.

“It will also provide more lane space for Barker’s school aquatic sports programs, including water polo and surf lifesaving.”

As the School transitions to full coeducation, the opportunity to utilise the Hornsby Aquatic Centre will be of enormous benefit and allow for continued growth and development of Barker’s swimming programs.

All Barker's Aquatics' students, whether they are attending the School or otherwise, will benefit from this new arrangement.

The program will run over six mornings and five afternoons at the Hornsby Aquatic Centre.

“This is an extremely exciting time for our Aquatic Programs as we look to the future,” Haydn Belshaw said. “We want to make a difference, not only within the Barker community, but the surrounding local community as well.”
