Liverpool Football Club Partner with Barker

Barker College is excited to announce a new partnership with Liverpool Football Club (LFC) and their International Academy Partner in New South Wales, Southern Cross University that will assist Barker in delivering high quality outcomes for both its students and coaching staff.

This unique partnership model will offer both short and long term benefits and will focus on coach education and student engagement. Barker’s students will have the opportunity to participate in programs being developed by the Liverpool FC Academy including upcoming holiday clinics and longer term courses.

“As part of this arrangement, LFC will provide ongoing coach education which I have no doubt will enhance the qualities and knowledge of Barker’s coaches. Longer term, we will be looking to introduce tours for our students and coaches to LFC's world renowned youth academy in England.” says Barker Director of College of Coaches, David O'Keefe.

‘The "Liverpool Way" is well recognised all over the world so for our coaches and students to have access to their coaching staff, resources and expertise will only be a benefit for our own developing football program at the School,” Mr O’Keefe said.

“In association with Southern Cross University we will also be looking to develop and introduce a number of new sporting and tertiary education opportunities that will enable us to deliver a significant football and education experience for our students, that keep them connected to the Barker community well beyond their HSC year.” Mr O’Keefe added

Scott Collis, General Manager at Southern Cross Football Centre, Liverpool FC International Academy NSW, said, “We have been talking to Barker for some time and are very encouraged by what they are trying to achieve with their school football program. There is plenty of synergy between what Barker are doing and what LFC NSW/SCU wish to achieve long term, so we are incredibly excited about this partnership which we’re confident will deliver best practice outcomes for Barker students and coaching staff well into the future.”
