UPDATE: 9 April 2020
Federal Minister for Education advice regarding school holidays

The Federal Minister for Education, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, has asked that schools ‘retain a physical classroom environment for the children of parents who may not have a choice of keeping children at home.’ In the same letter, he later adds that “I will be varying the approval of all independent approved authorities to include a condition from the commencement of Term 2, requiring schools to provide a physical classroom environment for the children of parents who choose to access it”.

Barker has received approval from the Federal Minister and the Federal Department of Education for the “Barker 2020 Reimagined” model, which ensures that students are able to access the School from 27 April but the return to Term 2 will be from Monday 11 May. The School will be open for supervision as advised in the School’s advice to the community regarding “Barker 2020 Reimagined” on 31 March.

We continue to look forward to reuniting to the extent we are permitted in Term 2. We eagerly await the PIP Exhibition and the reestablishment of Barker learning. “
