The Barker Foundation Aquatic Centre has recently undertaken a rigorous external audit and successfully passed the Swim School Accreditation.
“The short to medium term goal for the Centre from day one was to get to the point that our program and facility was better than just ‘best practise’,” said Haydn Belshaw, Director of the Foundation Aquatic Centre.
The accreditation scheme was introduced by Swim Australia, with the support of the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association. It was primarily designed to raise industry standards, and consequently acknowledges Swim Schools achieving a high benchmark.
As part of the process six categories were examined including the facility and environment; programming; staffing and management development; customer care and services; parent education and safety.
“The team works tirelessly to ensure we exceed our own expectations, and are extremely proud of how we contribute to Barker and the wider community,” Haydn said.
