Annabelle Hendry

Geometric Dress

Annabelle was inspired by the geometry in the design and construction techniques of Pierre Cardin, the soft pinks and greens of Monet’s garden at Giverny and the strong and repetitive lines used by Ateliers Jean Nouvel, the architects of One Central Park in Sydney.

Annabelle has created a fascinating and showstopping dress that displays a wide range of fabric manipulation techniques, including; pleating, prairie points, smocking, ruching and heat shrinking. She used a palette of neutral pale pinks, purples and creams alongside natural fabrics such as rich silk, cottons, organza and then added assorted freshwater pearls. Annabelle’s dress is for the sixteen to early twenties age group who embody the essence of this feminine and attractive apparel piece.
