Traditional Timber Longboard
Paulownia and Western Red Cedar were the primary timbers used to craft the recreation of the 70’s inspired nose riders that were primarily built from wood.
The rising sun design was constructed from planing and edge joining the two contrasting timbers together in pieces to complete the laminated faces for the board. The ‘sun’ block being made from recycled Jarrah to complete the design. The Western Red Cedar under the design has a very prominent and wavey grain through the timber, giving the illusion of waves moving under the morning rising sun. The board has been completed with a quality fibre-glass covering. Tara has also designed a stand for her longboard that further compliments her work.
