Indigenous Primary School Landscape Concept

Indigenous education requires careful consideration of the setting in which students learn.

It is commonly known that Indigenous students have a strong connection to their Country and that they are more likely to become engaged in their learning if an appropriate environment is provided for them in which to grow.

Ben has developed a  landscape environment for the Ngarralingayil Barker campus in Wollombi. This solution considers the provision of a variety of environments, functional Indigenous planting (edible and medicinal), play settings, meeting areas, educational values and aesthetics. Local culture, council regulations, fauna and flora were other key considerations in the development of this design solution.
