Community Forum – A Tour Through the Teenage Brain
Sometimes they’re bored, disengaged, and unmotivated. Other times they’re risky, unpredictable, and emotionally volatile. What is going on with teenagers!?
During this evening session with Jared Cooney Horvath, we will explore the brain; how it develops, and how things change during adolescence and early adult-hood. Through fun, interactive activities, we will learn how (and why) teenagers think differently than adults and consider ways we can support them academically, emotionally, and cognitively.
Jared Cooney Horvath has a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Melbourne and an MEd in Mind, Brain & Education from Harvard University. He has worked as a teacher, curriculum developer, brain researcher, and is currently an educational researcher at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education.
Barker Staff will attend Professional Development with Dr Cooney Horvath on this student free day. We look forward to hosting parents in the evening of the same day, 19th April.
Please RSVP to reserve your seat.
